Men and Women in the military far from home during the Holidays?
America owes a great debt to the brave men and women in the Military who serve and stand guard to protect our freedom. Our family wants to say thank you...God bless you and yours. Do you have a family member or friend that will be away from home for the Holidays? Are you currently serving and stationed away from your family? Many wonderful answers to this question, thank you. God bless you and your families!

- Luckily my fiance will be home for the holidays. He is not overseas but he is in the Coast Guard and goes underway for a month at a time. Last year he missed Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year and my birthday, but thankfully he is in port for Christmas and New Year and also did get to spend Thanksgiving at home. Very happy to say that he only has 8 months left in the service and then he won't have to miss anymore holidays.
- Yup. In Kuwait for a little bit yet. But, it's just another day on the calendar. My two boys and I are celebrating when I get home sometime in the beginning of the year.
- No, not this year. The last active duty members of our family just retired this past summer. We now have four retirees and seven other veterans on my immediate family, including my father. We all know well the feelings of leaving family behind during the holidays. i have to smile when a civilian friend says her holiday's are "ruined" because her husband came home late or the kids couldn't get home from college. Imagine if that spouse or child were somewhere being shot at by rude strangers while sleeping in mud holes every night. Christmas is a time to count your blessings. Take time to thank God that some of us are willing to sacrifice so much so that the rest of us can go about ours lives in peace, comfort and safety. Amen.
- i am a 10 yr vietnam veteran, and i can relate to those people overseas...i missed 4 christmases and 5 thanksgiving...my immediatly family would posspone the holidays until i came home if it was close o the holidays...thank you and every body who sends god's blessings to our service men...i wonder if the non christians feel the same way...they should..we are protecting their rights also...god bless ALL military personnel and their family's...
