I have a court date(pre trial) tomorrow for a speeding ticket that is 13 over the speed limit 65; any advice?

  1. If you are guilty, go to court and take your medicine. If not, fight it.
  2. Not sure of term, but plea no loc conter tell judge you put your self at mercy of the court. he could give you 12 months with no conviction long as you break no law in that time period. Youwalk out court no conviction, no admittance of doing wrong. no jail time, no ins raise
  3. if you show up and the cop that wrote the ticket doesnt show up, the case will be dismissed. You could ask to see the records when the last time the radar gun was calibrated, if it has been over a year you may be able to plead that the gun is not getting a correct reading.
  4. I would go in and see what "the people" are charging. I once had a cop trump up the charges when I drove 25mph too fast by saying that I was swerving, fish-tailing and narrowly avoided an accident. That would have been a hefty charge. When I showed up in court ready to negotiate with the prosecutor, the judge read the charges and they had already reduced the charges to a simple speeding charge. I pled guilty because that is what I deserved. Still crooked of the cops though.... Good Luck
