Speed dating advice? Im going tomorrow night!! HELP!?
Hello all, Im a guy and im going speed dating tomorrow night for the first time - and hopefully the last. Im kinda scared to be honest! The age range is pretty large 23-38......... Is there any advice that you guys can give? At least i know that all the ladies there will be single!

- 1) Re-effing-LAX!!! If you're not going to have fun, there's no point in going. 2) Prepare for the obvious questions, and have quick, pithy answers: what do you do, what kind of woman do you like, what's an ideal date look like for you, etc. 3) Respect the timing. Have short, clear answers ready, and if you're forced to imporv, keep the extemp just as short. Also, give her as much time to ask and answer questions as you can. And HAVE some of those ready (see above) to ask her! 4) When you're talking, don't TRY to be funny, BE funny! All it takes is letting go of preconceptions and trying to "plan" for it, and listening...really LISTENING...to what she asks and says. Don't be sarcastic...unless she goes first...just be warm, endearing, engaging, and, above all, CONFIDENT! 5) If you see one you like, SAY SO. If she can't pay it back, say, "that's fine...I wouldn't let you walk away without the complement." 6) If one likes you, but you don't feel the same way, have a polite, funny, endearing response, like, "I'm pretty sure I'm not the one for you, but I envy the guy you meet tonight that fits you better. He's a lucky guy." That sort of thing. Better: have a few of them in case the others are eavesdropping. 7) Above all, be tactful, self-posessed, and gentlemanly. You should carry the chivalrous mantle of the guy who keeps your encounters cool and relaxed for EVERY woman you meet. You come off calm, friendly, funny, and in-charge, you're a rock star, even if you don't meet Ms. Right. Lastly, don't forget the basics: smile, eye contact, dress nice, good hygiene, etc. Good luck!
