Single parents in the dating world?
1. how do you introduce your gf/bfs to your kid(s)? When is it a good time in the relationship to introduce your gf/bf? 2. Is there any long term effects to your kid(s) when you go in and out of relationships with new bf/gfs? 3. Do's and Dont's with your kid(s) pertaining to entering the dating scene Any advice or comments?

- man, there re really no rules. u should look for yourself. for instance i never introduced any of my bfs to my kids. but when i found the one i decided was perfect to become permanent i introduced him pretty soon - maybe after a few weeks of dating. but i knew we would stay together and get married. my female friend on the other hand was drugging every male she got to know into her place and both her kids saw them and i guess deducted what they were doing there. well, her kids seem to be fine with that too. so it is different for different families
- Been their done this. I think caution is the best advice. I think the age of the childern would affect the answer to all ? First rule is to be sure that you will be seeing this person along time before you have them meet the kids. 1. If they are young I would suggest that you meet the bf/gf at a public place, like you just ran into them. Have them hang out with you for awhile and let the kids get to know them, have some fun. Then have them come over for a b-que during the day to have more fun, so on so on. If older, the kids will know you have been going on dates and most likely if you come home happy a lot they will want to meet them, when they ask too. Don't go out to much though cause that will make them not like them because you are gone all the time. 2. Young-- Don't go in and out of relationships that they know about. Be carefull to not let them know, sets a bad example. Older-- Same answer, try to shelter the the kids from bad examples, also be more carefull with your own feelings. 3. As above, limit there envolvement with your dates until you are sure it will go along term. Kids at any age can get really attached to others that hang out with their parent. Do let them know that you are dating some, but try and do it when they are with the other parent or with a good sitter. Screen your dates as good role models for your kids, no bad asses or people that would embaress them. Good Luck, be carefull.
