- Start - Control Panel - Add & Remove Programs. The entries you can see are probably updates. There should be a tick box to hide them.
- You most likely have updated you system, and that's a good thing ! Keep windows defender, and keep these updates , they are patches to secure your system, and they shall not harm you in any manner, Windos defender is something that will check you system for adwares and spywares all the time and freely, and actually it is rated to be a good guardian. In a word, keep updating your system !
- When you open Add/Remove Programs make sure that the checkbox at the top that reads "show updates" is NOT checked. This will mean that the Windows updates are then not shown, you should then be able to scroll through until you see Windows Defender. I too have Windows Defender installed and it shows for me in the Add/Remove Programs window. If yours does not, then there may have been an error during installation (which means it is probably not installed anyway).
- if system restore cannot uninstall windows defender, i think u cannot remove it from ur com
- You can uninstall a program from your computer if you no longer use it or if you want to free up space on your hard disk. You can use Programs and Features to uninstall programs or to change the program's configuration by adding or removing certain options. 1. Open Programs and Features by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Programs, and then clicking Programs and Features. 2. Select a program, and then click Uninstall. Some programs include the option to change or repair the program in addition to uninstalling it. but many simply offer the option to uninstall. To change a program, click Change or Repair. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
- Personally I would say to you is leave it on. It takes very little resources and it runs in the background. I've been using it ever since it came out as an update years ago and it works quite well in conjunction with my Internet Security. Regarding your other updates leave them alone, they are security patches issued by Microsoft and are for the benefit of your computer. If you don't want to see them in Add and Remove just take the tick out of "Show Updates" If you really want to be that foolhardy, then by all means remove them, but then you will inherit problems you wouldn't believe, which would end up you completely reformatting your hard drive and reinstalling XP and everything else!
