Is online dating considered a desperate last resort?
I've always associated online dating services as being desperate or 'for those people who can't find anyone'. Does it still have that perception? I'm going through a very lonely time in my life right now. I've been single for 4 years, I'm 26, the few friends that I have are either married with children or in committed relationships and the one guy I thought maybe I could have a chance with pretty much rejected me this summer. I'm feeling really down, isolated and alone and wondering if I should enter the online dating world. Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you!

- Not at all! It's a great way to meet someone if you're a really busy person or maybe even just someone that's too shy to approach someone in person. It's also helpful because you're matched up with people who have similar interests and values as you do, so you know you're at least SOMEWHAT compatible as opposed to that first date when you don't know much at all about what they're REALLY like deep down. If you're not sure about the dating services, peruse the personal ads. I know a lot of people that have used online dating with great success.
