4. Be honest! Don't lie and say you look like Orlando Bloom and that you make a 6 figure income if you work at McDonald's! Tell the truth and you will find someone who likes you for who you are. Meet your date in a public place, get to know her/him. Keep in mind that people tend to perceive themselves differently than others see them - so if someone looks different than how thir profile describes them don't be surprised.
5. I would advise against it. Even websites like e-harmony that are supposed to find you a perfect match often do not work. My friend used e-harmony and ended up with a terrible match and they broke up after a month because they had nothing in common. I am sure it has worked for some people though, you really have to be careful.
6. if you are ugly, aged, stinking loser; it is good.

For a first face to face meeting, just pie and coffee or a drink is better than dinner; that way if you don't much like each other, it's not so awkward to say "good bye and thank you" after 30 minutes. If you DO like each other, then you can have a real date next time. Keep in mind that the women who run personal ads are going to get a lot more responses than the men will, so don't expect everything to be 50-50. If you are expecting her to pay for her own pie and coffee, or to travel, she just may put your ad on the "reject" stack and move on to the next candidate. I met men via Internet personals for a couple years, and eventually met the love of my life. We've been together for nearly 5 years now. Oh, one more thing. Some of the men I met seemed to have some idea that Internet dating meant instant sex. I guess that's because prostitutes use the ads to find clients. If you expect things to "move along" any faster than with ladies you meet by traditional means, then make sure that the lady you are contacting actually IS a prostitute. If the lady is NOT, then you will be insulting her and wasting both your and her time.
