Free legal services or advice??
My fiance was wrongly accused of family violence by his 30 yr old son... who was living with us. He was arrested and charged with aggravated assult. He has a court date in september, and we are in need of some legal advice, and legal aid. We cannot afford the expence of a lawyer, as we are in debt because of his son (not paying rent, bills etc. ) We are in Georgetown, just outside of Austin Tx. I know my fiance is innocent, as I have witnesed the entire "incident". And the only reason his son pressed charges, is out of retaliation. His father kicked him off the computer, and the son started coming after the father, instigating the whole thing. There were NO punches. Just wresteling. His son was kicking, clawing, and biting. But he was the one who ended up with a few bruises becasue the wrestling ended up on the floor. If my fiance goes to jail, thre is a very good chance we will lose our home. There is no way I can afford the upkeep by myself. Thanks in advance!!

- Get a lawyer. You are ready to lose your home and have your finace go to jail all because you don't want to pay a few hundred bucks to a lawyer? Why did you allow the situation with his son to escalate to the point where you started to have financial troubles? When someone doesn't pay their rent, you evict them and get a tenant who can and does pay. Why on earth would your financial situation revolve around his son anyway? Don't the two of you make enough money to meet your own financial obligations?
