Dating a Man 35 Years Older Than You?

I mean come on, is this really possible? No! So, my cousin called me last night me and told me an older man gave her his business card and told her to call anytime she wanted to "chit chat". A grown man chiting and chatting with....a kid (basically that's what she is & she isn't a minor). Let me also add that he's a pilot an offered a "let me know if you're going anywhere..." which is a equivalent if you need anything just let me know (e.g. free plane tickets). We all know what that really means... *shakes head* I need to get into her head before her parents find out. Any advice? Ages?? Well lets say this...she's still in college and not graduate school....So you can practically guesstimate how old he is. ANDREW Q: What I meant by "we all know what that means" is that this is an old grown man offering her plane tickets...it's rare someone just does something without expecting nothing in return. Unless you're Blessed Mother Theresa or Princess Diana...and exactly how many of those do we have left???? I guess he saw something young and cute and ran for it. *sighs*

9. Well, she's technically an adult. When I was seventeen I was dating a 37 year old. But he was a rock star, so I was able to overlook the whole 'old' thing. It's a give and take relationship. Perhaps looking for a fling in a city away from home. 35 years age difference is not so cool at a young age, 20 verses 55, but it's different if it's 45 and 80, but at that age, not many people are getting married. 20 years at older ages is OK, and comon 40 year old married to 60 years old. That probobly doesn't help your situation. Hopefully here's something that does: he's probobly just interested in your cousin because she's young, and has a vagina.

There may not be a lot wrong with the age difference in a case where there is some mutual ground - the marriage of Charlie Chaplin, for example, but on the other hand it sounds like he is trying to buy her affection and she is considering it. I suspect that since the age difference they may have met online so you can try to see what he has posted and his action online may condemn him in her eyes. you might even find out that he is married or has another woman on the line as well. you can also remind her that after finishing college she will be a different person with different interests so she should concentrate on that for the time being
