Men I need your help! Dating advice?

Me and this guy have been dating for like 4 weeks. And I really like him, he's sweet and kind and wants to make me happy (he's always doing sweet things for me and anything I ask). Well like the other day, we had hung out, but I sensed that he was distracted, so i said, "Baby, I'ma go on an go home, I can tell you got some stuff on your mind and I don't want to be in your hair" I kissed him and he said, "you can tell" and hugged me. I left and was cool with the whole situation. Two days later he called and said that we should just be friends cause he was preoccupied with other stuff (his kid, child support court, a crazy roommate, finding a new job). so i was like cool. I didn't even get mad. i just accepted cause I was like he is being honest. But then, nothing changed. I mean he calls and texts all the time. We still go out all the time. He shares everything with me. I asked him about it and he says I deserved someone who can give him 100%. So what does all this mean?
