Any advice dating a Dominican man b/c I am tired of hearing so much negativity?
I am dating a Dominican man (he's 28 and I'm 23) and he is so good to me and shows how much he wants a life with me everyday. BUT my parents and their latin friends keep saying to be careful with him because dominican guys are such cheats. I want to trust him and I when I tell him about this he says he wouldn't do that to me and how he wants just me but I still feel like I need more reassurance. I don't want to nag him about it but it is in my mind a lot mainly because he is Dominican. He loves that I am Persian and that I am from a culture with very loyal woman. He is 100% reassured about me but I want to feel the same way about him without keep bringing it up. What are your expiriences with Dominican guys? Any advice would be appreciated~ Thank you~

- As a dominican woman I can tell you that cheating is a part of life in the Dominican Republic, especially in the lower class population due to the strong influence of Machismo on the society. If your man is 2nd generation perhaps his american upbringing will curb some of that machismo. If he's just arriving from the Island you may find it hard to adjust to the things that he expects from a woman. Dominican men are fun and love their women, but depending on his upbringing your morals and his may not match up in the long term. Good luck!
