Have you ever got some really bad dating advice? What was it? A certain book I read told me that it is best to date several guys at one time and basically try to meet as many as possible. I tried speed dating a few months ago - went twice and also met a few guys other ways too. The problem is that I would go on one date with each guy that I met then get really confused about which one I liked and ended up being so confused I didn't like any of them. It also resulted in some pretty bad dates. Then i was like omg what the hell am i doing i cant even remember who these people are I have to stop. Some details that may affect your answer: -This is my second ticket within a year -It occurred in Illinois, and I am a resident of Illinois - It was on a five lane highway where the posted speed limit is 55, but realistically, everyone goes 70 or more. - I was in a pack of cars that were all going about 80, and I simply got picked out. - I felt the police officer was quite rude and curt with me. - I am a fairly new driver who grew up overseas, and therefore was exposed to a different culture that takes a different attitude towards speeding. (this is a long shot, but maybe this angle could generate some sympathy) I know that if the officer doesn't show up, he is violating my 6th amendment right to face my accuser, and the case will most likely be dropped. I also heard that I can invoke my 7th amendment right to a trial by jury because the case involves more than 20 bucks. If I do this, it''ll supposedly be too expensive for the court to continue to prosecute me, and they'll drop it.

I got a speeding ticket in NJ for 26 over the speed limit. Any advice you can offer me? I am 21, a responsible, clean cut successful college student, usually the motorist the crazy people beep at and pass on the road, but this time I made a mistake while driving in an area I have rarely driven in before and should have paid more attention to the speed I was going. There was one other driver on the road and when I realized he was going slower than I was I started to slow down, but I was stopped about a minute after. The officer was fairly pleasant, but one of his colleagues stopped someone else immediately after me, so clearly they were on the lookout. I plan on telling the truth and owning my mistake and indeed showing up in court, as well as taking a defensive driver course to lower my points, and dressing up nicely in court (any suggestions as to that?) as well, but does anyone have any further suggestions for me? This is my first speeding ticket and second overall - I paid $50.00 three years ago for driving without my seat belt when I got lost one time in South Jersey. Do you think they will be able to move the court date to a Friday morning so that I do not miss any classes? I am more worried about my points that the fines - I have friends who can probably help me out with the fines and who I can pay back over time. It's the points that could really hurt. I neglected to say it was doing 61 in a 35 zone. It's in an area that links a few major roads. Going through a rough time. Advice? My boyfriend and I are going through a pretty rough time. We are both living in Germany because our parents are military. Im a senior in high school and he graduated last year. We've been dating for four years. Last year his parents retired and went back to the states and he got an apartment here so he could be with me during my last year of high school. A few days ago he totalled his car, and lost his job. He has no home phone/internet and his cell phone is broken. We're lucky if we're able to see eachother 2 times a week. (we're use to being together almost everyday) And Now his mom his pressuring him to move back to the states. Everything is just going downhill and its been really hard on both of us. speeding ticket advice? i just got pulled over today on my way to cedar point for doing 80 in a 65 and i didn't have my seatbelt on. :( i think i can get out of the ticket but my court date is scheduled for while i am going to be out of town. what do you think the approximate cost is going to be and do you think i would be able to get out of the speeding portion of the ticket if i had to speed up to avoid an accident? I told the state trooper and he did not seem to care to much. i was on the highway and the lady in front of my hit her brakes hard while going around the turn because of the officer there. i was looking to make the lane change anyway so i did not see her brake lights because i was checking my blind spot at the time. i needed to speed up because i basically had to cut off another car to change lanes and it was only a 2 lane highway.

How to out a speeding ticket in Georgia? About a month ago I got pulled over for going 71 on a 55 in Georgia. (16 over). I was late getting home one night, sped up to pass someone in the right lane, and crossed over. I just recently got my court date and a fine of 125. I'm going to have to ask to reschedule my court date because I will be away, but I am definitely planning on showing up. This should put two points on my license, but I've been driving for a little less than 6 months and want to do everything possible to get those points off. Any suggestions of what to do, or comments of experience? There's always the chance of the police officer not showing up, but I'd rather not depend on that. Someone also told me I can talk to him before we go into court, and he might reduce my speed to 15 mph over. If he did, I wouldn't have two points put on my license. Speeding ticket advice - Southern California? Okay, I did a trial by written declaration, which the Judge probably didn't even read, and instead just checked off "Guilty" and moved on. Now I filled for a trial de novo, so I'm trying to prepare for my court date. The stupid thing about the ticket is that the exact charge on my court documents is section a of the maximum speed law which says that no vehicle shall travel faster than 65mph. The cop who ticketed me was doing at least 70 although most likely 75 and traffic was going the same speed as the officer. Can I in this case plead that my speed was safe for conditions. Isn't there a loop hole or something that if a cop breaks the law and lets others do the same, that he cannot just pick out some person randomly and ticket them. I was going faster than traffic, but not by more than 5-6mph, which is safe from a logical standpoint, however maybe not as far as the @sshole judge cares, he needs more money to pay for his third Porsche. Could I argue that it must have been safe to go faster because the officer was doing the same, and that once you are above 65mph, there is not set speed limit above that, "whatever speed is safe for conditions" is a huge gray area, and I could argue that my speed falls into that category. First of all, the speeding part... its California everyone speeds, the commonly agreed upon speed is 80mph, that is the standard speed EVERYONE does if traffic permits. I was doing 85mph. Traffic was going at 75-80mph. As far as endangering others, maybe I'm just crazy but according to my screwed up logic, I'm not endangering people, just because I'm going fast enough to pass people and because I change lanes with enough room that I don't cut anyone off and if I use my turn signals each time and if I change lanes slowly, making sure that the drivers behind me see me before I get completely into the next lane. Just because I drive better than some Asian doesn't mean I'm a bad driver. If the cop can drive like that "safely" whos to say that no citizen will ever be that good. you want proof that I'm a good driver... here it is... I have zero accidents, despite my alleged "aggressive" driving. Although the Judge will laugh at all that and move on, but then again we can't all be reasonable people... we need @sshles too to sit on chairs way the hell up, so they can look down at the common folk and be called "Your Honor" end rant. If I just plead guilty from the start, does that still give me the ability to ask for traffic school. I'd settle for traffic school if I knew I would get it.

17 and 2 speeding tickets =[ I NEED ADVICE!? So I got my first speeding ticket about 3 months ago, i got traffic school. The date for the traffic school is still valid, and i havent attained it yet. but recently i got ANOTHER speeding ticket. so my question is, what the hell are they going to do with me?...I didint even finish the first punishment and now i have a 2nd one, this one was pretty bs. 36 mph over the speed limit... a few questions? Today I was pulled over for going 86 mph in a 50 mph zone. I live in Florida and here 30 mph over the speed limit and over requires a court appearance. I'm 18 and I've had my license for a little over 3 months though I first had my permit issued about two years ago. How do I increase my reading speed, and effectively retain the information I read? I've just started university (Master's Degree) this week, and the course requires us to read several articles before each class. I'm a really slow reader and the faster I read, the less able I am to absorb the information in the article. I have received a court notice for speeding I have a foreign licence, can you advice me please? I am a foreigner and have recently started living in the country as a permanent resident. I hold a foreign drivng licence which allows me to drive in the UK for 12 months from the date of my arrival. I received a ‘Notice of Intended Prosecution’ for driving 41mph within a 30mph zone and was asked to fill the form with named driver. I complying with the rules gave my name as the driver of the vehicle. I then received a ‘Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty’ to either pay the fixed penalty or contest this in the court. I opted for a fixed penalty and filled the direct debit payment form and sent it to the Police along with my driving licence. My licence was returned along with the direct debit form informing me that this matter cannot proceed by way of fixed penalty as my licence was not issued by DVLA in Swansea, only licences issued by that authority can be dealt with in this manner and now the matter will proceed by way of a Court Hearing. I would be extremely grateful if someone could please help me by giving me some advice as to what will happen next and what should I do meanwhile.
